Who we are

StudyFlow ("we", "us", "our") is an AI-powered study platform that turns your course materials — documents, notes, and lecture recordings — into study guides, flashcards, quizzes, and interactive tutoring. You can contact us about this policy or your data at support@studyflow.app.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By creating an account, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored only in encrypted form) when you register, or basic profile details from Google when you sign in with Google.
  • Content you upload: class documents, notes, lecture recordings, assignments, images of coursework, and other study materials you submit for processing.
  • Generated content: study guides, flashcards, quizzes, summaries, and tutoring sessions created from your materials.
  • Usage information: how you use StudyFlow (pages visited, features used, quiz results) so we can improve the service.
  • Payment information: subscriptions are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your card number on our servers.

How your content is processed by AI

StudyFlow uses artificial intelligence to analyze the materials you upload and produce study aids. This includes transcribing lecture recordings, summarizing documents, and powering the StudyFlow Tutor. Your content is sent to third-party AI service providers solely to fulfill your request — for example, to generate a study guide or respond in a tutoring session.

We do not sell your course materials, and access to your records is restricted to you. Please be mindful of what you upload: if a document contains sensitive personal information, that information may be processed by the AI service.

How lecture recordings are handled

When you upload or record a lecture, the audio file is stored with your account, transcribed automatically, and used to generate your notes and study materials. You can delete any recording at any time from your library, which also removes its transcript and derived notes.

Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers to operate StudyFlow:

  • Hosting, authentication, and database services (Base44)
  • AI providers for transcription, summarization, and tutoring
  • Payment processing for subscriptions
  • Google, if you choose to sign in with Google

These providers process data on our behalf or as independent controllers when you interact with them directly (for example, at the payment checkout page).

Connected learning platforms

If you connect a supported learning platform (such as Moodle, Canvas, or Blackboard), StudyFlow may access only the information you explicitly authorize through that connection — for example, your course names, enrolled courses, assignments, due dates, and course materials you are already authorized to access.

StudyFlow never requests or stores your school password when you use an authorized third-party connection. You can disconnect a linked platform at any time.

How long we keep your data and how you can delete it

Your content stays in your account until you delete it. You can delete individual classes, notes, documents, recordings, and other items yourself at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at support@studyflow.app and we will remove it. Some records may be retained briefly in backups as described below.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including strict data isolation so that no other user can access your records. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not upload materials you are not comfortable storing online.

Children's privacy

StudyFlow is not directed at children under 13, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you may use StudyFlow only with the consent of a parent or guardian as required in your jurisdiction. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it. Parents may contact us at support@studyflow.app with any concerns.

Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can exercise most of these directly in the app; for anything else, contact support@studyflow.app and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as StudyFlow evolves. We will notify account holders of significant changes. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
